Does anybody know if this is insurmountable? I really want to use the latest and greatest version of Blender and I’ve only seen anybody do real-time microprocessor integration with Blender 2.4. It seems that there is a compatibility problem with Pyserial and 64 bit Python installations. I am trying to output scene information to an arduino microprocessor through the serial port and I just can’t seem to get Pyserial to work. I’m starting off by trying to recreate an updated version of Justin Dailey’s “Real-time robotic arm controlled by Blender” project. (had to get that out there for anybody who’s spent time helping to make/improve Blender :))Īnyways, my goal is to use Blender as a simulation and visualisation tool for engineering work - with an aim at interactive 3D physics simulation running simulatneously with real world hardware. This is really an impressive and powerful program and I am totally blown away by its quality, integrated software packages, nearly endless features, and I still can’t believe it’s free and open source. Hi everyone, I am a mechanical engineer who just discovered Blender a month ago and I’m in love.
